New designers often stumble and reinvent the wheel due to an education focused more on theory than practical application.
1. Poor measurements. Lack of measurements.
Reason: This is not taught in the institute.
Result: Problems at the construction site, built-in furniture and equipment do not fit.
2. Use of furniture and finishing materials in the project that are not available in showrooms in Yekaterinburg, or that are not affordable for the client.
Reason: This is not taught in the institute. There are no catalogs.
Result: Changes to the project. Studying the market for furniture and finishing materials.
3. Overestimation or underestimation of builders’ capabilities.
Reason: No experience working with different construction teams.
Result: Arbitrary actions by builders. What is quite possible, according to builders, turns out to be impossible. Or the other extreme – limiting oneself in means of expression due to fear of difficulties at the construction site.
4. Lack of knowledge about the technology of general construction and finishing works. Lack of knowledge about the specifics of installation. Lack of knowledge about the dimensions of materials and the sizes of technological seams.
Reason: The difference between theory and practice.
Result: Errors in the drawings.
