Challenges and Limitations of Designing Wooden Houses
Creating interiors in a timber house is a true test of a designer’s professionalism. The limited palette of techniques and a number of structural features require a precise approach.
Challenges:
- Gypsum board (GKL) cannot be used.
- It is prohibited to block openings in wooden walls.
- It is difficult to move walls, outlets, and switches.
- Challenges with replacing doors and changing wall colors.
- It is important to balance the amount of wood so that the interior does not look monotonous.
Furniture for a Wooden House
What furniture fits best into the interior of a timber house? There are two approaches:
- Contrasting Interior: Use ultra-modern furniture to create an eclectic style.
- Provence Style Furniture: Choose furniture that harmonizes with the warm textures of wood.
To achieve balance in the walls, it is recommended to use “floating” structures to avoid deformations due to the transformation of logs.
Decorating Wooden Walls
Wooden walls can be:
- Painted or decorated with murals.
- Covered with wallpaper, secured with “floating” fasteners.
These approaches allow for the preservation of the natural appearance of the wood and add individuality.
