I always take a checklist for measurements. It’s a list of everything I need to ensure I don’t forget to measure. Make sure to carefully verify the measurement plan you’ve created.

Checklist “Measurement Plan”:
Ventilation (sizes of ventilation openings, distance from floor to bottom or from ceiling to top)
Hatches (height, width, distance from floor to bottom)
All hot water, cold water pipes, risers, drainage, etc. (dimensions, diameter, coordinates in x and y relative to walls)
Meters (Height)
Radiators (length, height, depth, distance from top to floor)
Electrical panel (length, height, depth, distance from bottom to floor)
Intercom (coordinates in axes x, y, z)
Ceiling height (in each room at the corners and in the center of the room). If there are ceiling level changes – mark the line of the ceiling change.
Height of openings (If there is a formwork or box – indicate that the size is given to it)
Height of thresholds
Height of window sills
Thickness of the ceiling (For multi-storey apartments and houses)
Height of windows
Depth of the slope
Angle of the slope (Measure the width of the window from the inside and outside of the slope. The standard size difference will be 5cm with a wall thickness of 250mm)
Perimeter dimensions (Clockwise from the door. You should return to the same point)
Dimensions – openings (General dimensions and maximum lengths that can be measured)
Gas boilers and their connections (length, height, depth, distance from bottom to floor)
Beams (dimensions, height from floor to bottom of the beam)
Width of door openings
Width of window openings (two sizes – external and internal)
Wall thicknesses (Walls with built-in windows and doors are calculated by adding the wall sections and the thickness of the window (door) profile)
Show door openings (including sliding ones)
Balcony railings (Height, thickness, material)
Ventilation ducts (Dimensions, coordinates in x, y, z)
Room number (Take from the construction plan or BTI plan)
Wall material, if it can be determined. (Mark the boundaries of different materials.)
Photos of all rooms. (All walls should be fully captured in the photo)
