What to do if you have a two-room apartment and two children of different genders, and buying a three-room apartment is not possible, even with the help of maternity capital?
How to turn a two-room apartment into a three-room apartment?
I was approached with this question by a family of four.
Family Composition:
Dad, mom, 10-year-old daughter, 4-month-old son.
Situation:
- two-room apartment
- electric stove
Wishes:
- to create 2 children’s rooms
- bedroom for parents
- office for dad
Solution:
I placed the kitchen in the former wardrobe space in the hallway.
The sink in the kitchen
will work with the help of a Grundfos Sololift sewage pump.
The parents’ bedroom
is moving to the former kitchen.
The apartment is on the very top
floor, so there are no neighbors above, just an attic, and no one will disturb.
In
the place of the toilet, we made a wardrobe with a large utility sink and
storage system.
The head of the family’s office will be made on the insulated loggia.
We divide the 18 sq.m. room in half, giving us two children’s rooms of 9 sq.m. each with
separate entrances.
We will install a window in the partition between the children’s rooms, which can be opened if desired.
